Orbit Farm Technologies grew out of decades spent doing IT work the way it actually gets done, driving to the site, running the cable, staying until the network held. This work eventually put us inside sow units, where we saw firsthand how much farm teams were being asked to manage every day.
We also began to recognize a critical gap: biosecurity protocols were only effective when they were consistently followed, yet many of the most important steps were difficult to verify. Technology wasn't being fully leveraged to help teams identify gaps, reinforce accountability, and respond to risks in real time.
That experience taught us what farm teams actually need: something reliable, something simple, and something a team can trust at 2 a.m. when an alert comes through.
